New Feature Announcement: Batch Sequencing

BC Connect is excited to introduce the Batch Sequencing feature—designed to give you greater flexibility and control in planning your batch processing workflow.

What's New

  • Plan Your Processing Order: Clearly specify the order in which batches should be processed using the new Sequence # column.
  • Batch List Dividers: Organize your batch list with customizable dividers. Each divider displays total RML and time estimates for its group, making planning and tracking easier.
  • Quick Batch Insertion: Add new batches exactly where you need them in the sequence, thanks to intuitive “New Batch” buttons.
  • Sequence Preview: Preview and edit a batch’s position before accepting it, ensuring your sequence matches your operational plan.
  • Sawyer Dashboard Updates: The dashboard now reflects your chosen batch sequence, with a simplified interface and improved navigation.
  • Improved Scheduling Controls: Batch sequencing replaces the previous scheduling system, providing more direct control over batch acceptance and processing.

How Does This Benefit You?

  • More Control: Determine exactly which batches are processed and when, without being limited by automatic acceptance rules.
  • Greater Flexibility: Easily re-order batches, group them with dividers for different products or projects, and view key metrics at a glance.
  • Efficient Planning: Insert new batches precisely where you need them and quickly adjust batch order as priorities change.
  • Clear Communication: The enhanced sequence visibility ensures everyone on the team—planners and sawyers alike—are aligned on the processing order.

Getting Started

  1. Organize with Dividers: Drag and drop dividers to group batches. Edit divider names and view group totals for RML and time.
  2. Set the Sequence: Use the Sequence # column to review the processing order. Drag batches or use the Batch Sequence Preview to adjust positions.
  1. Add New Batches: Hover between batches or dividers to reveal the “+” button and insert a new batch at the desired spot.
  1. Review and Accept: Check batch positions and details in the Batch Settings and Optimized Results pages. Adjust as needed before accepting for processing.
  2. Sawyer Dashboard: Sawyers will see the final, exact sequence—ready to go!
