Arranging Your Workspace - Undocking, Docking and New Window

BC Framer® software is highly customizable and allows for various workspace configurations. This is helpful when working with multiple monitors or for arranging where tools lay within the application's windows.

Undocking and Docking

- Left-click on the title bar of the view pane (window) that needs to be relocated and while holding the left mouse button, pull in any direction to undock.

- To separate the view pane from the main window - While pressing the left mouse button, drag the view pane to a new location, in an open space, outside of the main window or on a separate monitor.

- To relocate within the main window - While pressing the left mouse button, using the positioning arrows to specify, hover over the arrow that indicates the new location.

Create a Dockable View

- Right-click the Solid (3D) View tab and select Dockable View.

- Left-click on the title bar of the view pane (window) and while pressing the left mouse button, using the positioning arrows to specify, hover over the arrow that indicates the new location.

NOTE: This can be done with the Solid (3D) View tab and Layout Sheet tabs.

Separate (3D) to a New Window

- Right-click the Solid (3D) View tab and select New Window.

- Left-click on the title bar of the view pane (window) and drag the new window to it's desired location.

Note 1: This works great for keeping an eye on your 3D model while continuing to work in plan view!

Note 2: As the tool tip shows, when hovering over the 3D tab, double left-clicking will also create the new window / view frame.
