Why Does the Batch Show a Member Shorter in Return to Inventory Than the Offcut?

Offcut members in a batch are evaluated according to rules to determine what member length will be returned to inventory.

In the example below, the offcut member is 8' 3/8". To calculate what will be returned to inventory, the system first subtracts the product overage, which for 48' is 3/4".

8' 3/8" - 3/4" = 7' 11-5/8"

This member is rounded down to a whole foot, or 7'.

The product overage setting for this length is 1/2", so a member 7' 1/2" is returned to inventory for future use.
