Framer 8.1.0 and later requires SQL 2012 to run. If SQL 2008 was previously used, the database is migrated to SQL 2012 leaving the original database intact.
The service for the SQL 2008 database was started, but not the service for the 2012 database.
To see what servers are available, look in the "Microsoft SQL Server" folder: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server
This folder shows the installed SQL servers. The number after MSSQL indicates the version. In the example shown:
- "10_50" indicates SQL 2008 (MSSQL10_50.BCFRAMER)
- "11" indicates SQL 2012 (MSSQL11.BCF810276)
Then look at the Windows Services to make sure that the SQL Server with the SQL 2012 database (MSSQL11) is running. The name of the server could be anything: SQL2012, SQL2012SP1, FRAMER, BCFRAMER...
In this example, the SQL Server (BCF10276) is the SQL 2012 instance and it must be started if it has stopped.
Select the correct Server name and click "Start".
