Slope refers to the pitch of a roof member and is only entered for rafter, roof beam and simple hip member types in BC Calc®. In the U.S., slope is entered in units of rise per 12 inches of run and must be within the range of 0-12. A minimum slope of 0.25 in/ft is recommended for rafters. A slope of 0 may be entered for ridge beam applications. The slope of the rafters that frame into the hip is entered in Simple Hip.
