Load duration factors adjust the allowable stresses according to the amount of time a load is fully applied to a member. The less time the load is fully applied, the higher the duration factor.
Note: Duration factors are represented as percentages (115%) or decimal numbers (1.15).
Duration values used by BC Framer® software:
- Dead (90%)
- Live (100%)
- Roof Live (125%)
- Snow (100% or 115%)
- Wind (133% or 160%)
