For the purposes of analysis, BC FRAMER assumes that all connections are pinned, rather than fixed.
A pinned connection is permitted to "rotate" during deflection (e.g. as a beam sags in the middle, the "connections" or support are free to rotate around their connection). Fixed connections are not permitted to rotate.
Selecting longer bearing lengths and/or web stiffeners does not change the pinned connection assumption. These bearing selections only affect the allowable BCI shear values.
