As discussed in bulletin published on July 18th, 2024: The default Analysis and Design ribbon has several useful commands for your workflow and it often takes multiple clicks to complete all of the necessary steps. The Design Model button can be customized to streamline this process to run multiple commands with a single click.
As a best practice Boise Cascade EWP Software recommends configuring the Design Model tool to complete the required steps for a complete analysis of existing models.
Configuring the Design Model tool and adding it to your ribbon(s) is a multi-step process we will outline here:
- Navigate to File > Setup > Program Settings
- Under General: Misc > Design Model Preferences select the following checkboxes:
- Clear Warnings
- Clear Analysis Results
- Reset Analysis Model
- Geometry Only Connectors
- Design Members
- Design Connectors
- Click OK to commit the changes to Program Settings.
The Design Model icon will not show by default. The tool is left out of ribbons as it needs to be configured specifically to a user's needs (step 1) before it will function.
Take a fresh DataMover backup after customizing your ribbon(s) so that the new customization is included in your backup (mdmf) file. More about DataMover backups here.
